1. Money Conversion
-If you want to feel, live
and be treated like a King, Thailand is the place to be...
The current rate
conversation for 1 US$ in Thailand is 34-35 THB (Thai Baht). I stayed on the
beach with an ocean view in PhiPhi (pronounced Pee Pee) island for around 20$
per night and food can cost around 2-5$ per meal. I got a combination of
massages and body scrubs every day for around 10$ during my 10-day stay in
Thailand. You must get a Thai Massage, but be aware that compared to the
Swedish massage it can be very rough. This is your time to pamper yourself!

-Once you are in the
Thailand it is cheap to get around. My trip went like this Bangkok, Krabi,
Phiphi, Phuket, Chiang Mai and back to Bangkok. I mainly got around by plane, boat or Tuk-Tuk. The boat rides are really cheap. I normally don’t buy packages at
airports, but I ended up buying a 150$ hotel and transportation (not including
flights) for Krabi, Phiphi and Phuket islands for 4/5 days. Always bargain to
get the lowest price. Once in the islands there are so many beach tours.
Islands within PhiPhi include Maya Bay Beach where Leonardo Dicaprio filmed
“The Beach.” James Bond Island is just a boat ride away from Phuket. I saw so
many smaller islands that I don’t even remember all the names. Once you get out
of your hotel you will see people booking beach tours. It’s cheaper to sign up
for group tours rather than private tours. If you go to Monkey beach make sure
to bring food, because they are greedy and vicious!! (lol)

-Buddhism is the
country’s predominant religion and it influences everything from the
architecture to the way people interact with each other. Any of the country’s
major cities have breathtaking Buddhist temples to visit. Chiang Mai
and Bangkok had the most beautiful temples to me. If you like to
party and party hard Bangkok and Phuket are the place to be.
-If you really want to party all night book a hotel at Khao San
Road. I did this by mistake on my last two nights. I partied all night long one
night, but the one night I wanted to relax I could not sleep with all the party
going on in the street. Phuket also has many party spots on their beaches.
-I went to Tiger
Kingdom in Chiang Mai where they state their animals are not sedated. Even
though I took some awesome pictures I believe this was a lie, because some of
the tigers looked sleepy as if they were drugged. I also did an elephant tour,
but once I got their the elephants were chained up. I started to complain to
the tour guide. Even though he released them because I was freaking out I will
never go there again! If you want to play with some elephants opt out for a
place like www.elephantnaturepark.org where they rescue
elephants.

4. Shopping
If you like markets
and bargains, you’ll find shopping in Thailand fulfilling. You will find
similar items to buy all over Thailand. Every time I bought something I found
it cheaper at a different island or city. For example, I got a pair of pants
for like 6-7$ that I love in Phiphi, but if I would of waited I could of got it
in Phuket for 3-4$. I did hear a lot of people say not to shop at Phiphi,
because they tend to raise the prices but I just couldn’t resist. I am proof
that this is true. The best shopping deals to me were in Phuket. The only place
I did not shop at was Chiang Mai due to the time constraint. A must see is
Thailand’s water market, but BEWARE because I got scammed into going to a fake
water market where I saw like a handful of people selling stuff. When I went to
ask for my money back the place at the ferry station stated that due to it
being October (rainy season) it was “slow”. The real and best Floating Market
is 1 hour away not 10 minutes away.

ps: I went during the middle of October which is suppose to be
Thailand's rainy season. The only time I heard rain was one night in Krabi and
it was only for 5 minutes. Even though things in Thailand tend to be cheap try
not to go during their high season (Nov-Feb) to avoid a lot of tourists and over
the roof prices. The most expensive thing I bought in my Thailand trip was the
flight ticket itself which was 700$. Once in Thailand I do not believe I spent
over 500$. Any flights I took inside Thailand were anywhere from 50$-70$. If you really budget your money you can spend less. I will
definitely return one day <3.
